A quiet evening in your home, snuggled up on the couch and simply enjoying the end of a long day. That’s what I would expect, as I suspect most people would, when you settle in for the night. But for one young woman, her recent quiet night at home took a turn for the terrifying when she began noticing chewing sounds coming from inside her apartment wall. Then she saw a small hole near the ceiling that was growing bigger and bigger as she watched.
At first, Kenna Buchanan began filming the now growing hole for a TikTok. But eventually her concern and fear grew, and she started frantically texting her roommate. She pleaded for her friend to come and be ‘backup’ for whatever had taken up residence in their wall.
Buchanan told her roommate, “There’s something digging into our apartment.” Quickly, the pair determined it was likely a rodent eating its way into their home. But much to their disbelief, it wasn’t just any rodent. It was as a rodent the pair knew well: Linda – their neighbor’s hamster! Relieved, Buchanan captioned her now viral clip with “Entertaining night, the time my neighbor’s hamster chewed through our wall into my apartment!”

Buchanan’s TikTok video, which has more than two million views, went viral as viewers loved how she captured the brief, but terrifying scene in her apartment. In the video, she explains that she had “noticed a weird (sound) coming from a small hole in (her) apartment.”
She then shows the messages she had sent to her roommate, as the pair tries to determine what could possibly be coming out of their wall. And as for the plucky hamster, well she proved easy to bribe out of her new spot.

Rightly so, her TikTok viewers were in hysterics over the hilarious hamster and didn’t hesitate to share their joy at Linda’s hijinks in the comment section. One person wrote, “This is so freaking funny.” Another said, “As a Leasing agent, I would have started cackling if one of my residents came in and said this happened.”
“The fact that you know that your neighbor has a hamster, much less her name, makes me so happy idk why,” said one commenter.
