Tiny Kitten Gets Stuck In A Dangerous Place – Firefighters Take 1 Look And Spring Into Action

Well, that isn’t what a muffler typically sounds like! But for members of the Howell Area Fire Department, it was just another day for the Michigan firefighters. Typically, Howell fire officials said, the men will go out on emergency calls once in a while, but this time, the emergency was brought to them. A family rushed into the station needing help for their kitten. Its head was stuck in a muffler.

“On occasion the emergency call comes to the station… This afternoon our crew was brought a kitten with its head stuck in a muffler!” the department wrote in the post’s caption on Facebook. Officials said they think the feisty kitten got a little too curious and after a quick look inside the muffler, it quickly found it couldn’t get out on its own.

They posted a video, showing some of the fire crew petting the orange kitten to keep it calm, while others slowly cut pieces away from the opening in the muffler, allowing more room for the cat to hopefully get out. The footage showed the crew working to gently move the kitten’s head out. Finally after a few moments of holding their breath, the kitten’s head slides out and a sigh of relief can be heard from the crew.

There you go, buddy!”, said a firefighter, after freeing the terrified kitty.

The kitten, they said, was fine other than a coating of grease and oil around its ears and neck. Once rescued, the kitten was photographed sitting comfortably in a cage, quite ready to go back to the farm he came from. “The kitten was left with needing a good home remedy for those hard-to-clean ring around the collar stains before heading home,” the department wrote in its post. “The muffler just needs a little straightening and clamp. Both are in good condition, spoken for, and headed back to the barn.”

The crew was just glad they could lend a hand. “Our crew, as always, was happy to be of assistance.” This wouldn’t be the first time Texas officials have had to rescue an animal from a strange situation. Earlier this summer, a call came in about “about a possible orphaned barn owl on the ground without any parents nearby”. by the family while they were swimming and barbequing.

“Rehabber Christy managed the call and inquired if they had already placed it in a box,” the center said. “To which they responded, ‘We wrapped him in a warm tortilla.'” “Concerned about the baby feeling cold, the mother asked for a tortilla to be warmed up on the grill to provide heat for it,” officials said. And while it was a bit unconventional, the tortilla did its job and kept the baby safe until help arrived. What a wonderful thing to see in a world so often bogged down by sad news
