Random acts of kindness can change someone’s life. You never quite know when someone might need a special moment to boost their life.
So in this day and age, when we are so polarized, it’s amazing to see these moments of humanity come to life.
Enter Isaiah Garza, a social media star, who uses his platform to bring joy to random strangers. His latest video shows his heartwarming act of kindness towards a 97-year-old World War II veteran. In his now-viral TikTok, Garza approaches William Goode and asks him to go to Disneyland with him, to which the Goode excitedly agrees.
As they enter the park, Garza pushes his Goode around in a wheelchair and they go on various rides, including the spinning teacups, which Garza said he hadn’t ridden in more than 50 years. The two of them also take a break to dance and get Minnie Mouse ears.
Throughout the day, Garza checks in on his new friend, asking him how he feels, to which Goode responds,
Oh my gosh, this is one of the best days of my life. I feel like I might be dreaming or something.”
At the end of the day, the emotional veteran tells Garza, “I thought my life was over. I will remember this day for a long time. You don’t know how much I appreciate this. You really, really don’t know.”
Garza responded by asking his followers if he should start a new series with his new friend. The response is overwhelmingly positive, with many people expressing their admiration for Garza’s kindness and suggesting that more people follow his example.
As one Reddit user noted, “This is why it’s so important to have things to look forward to. Be it a trip, an event, a shopping day … so much of our mental well-being can hinge on just having hope.”
And for the duo, it didn’t stop there. Recently, Garza and Goode took another trip, this time to a Los Angeles Rams game. The Rams are Goode’s favorite team.
Goode went on the field, and got a surprise visit from his favorite player, Cooper Kupp.
“You’re really good,” Goode told Kupp. “Thank you,” Kupp responds. “I hope we can put on a good show for you today.” The veteran received a signed Rams jersey, as well as got a chance to wear the team’s Super Bowl ring. Goode said it was one of the best days of his life.
Garza’s video also serves as a reminder that it’s never too late to make new friends and have new experiences. Goode’s pure joy throughout the day shows that age is just a number, and that we should all be open to new experiences and meeting new people.

As Garza himself remarked about his own path, “Once homeless & now changing lives,” this reminds us to use our own experiences and talents to make a positive impact on the world.
