From Snoop Dogg to the highly viral USA gymnast, the memes and the love have been rolling out of the 2024 Paris Olympics. While the Olympics have another week to make itself even more popular online, below is a look at the Top 10 (so far) monumental meme moments.
10. Bob the Cap Catcher
Bob, no last name known, spends his time on the swimming sidelines in a colorful speedo. Until one day, history called his name and he marched forward with a confidence we all wish we had. As cameras followed his every move, Bob made his way to the pool. His job – to retrieve the lost swimming caps of Olympic swimmers. And, as you can see below, he didn’t let anyone down.
Who do you call when a swim cap falls in the pool?

9. Gold-Medal Shock
Despite the hard work, the constant training and actually qualifying for the Olympics – the idea of winning can still be unexpected. After all, you are competing with the best of the best. So, U.S. fencer Lauren Scruggs can be forgiven for forgetting that she too was the best of the best. And after her scoring point, she won the first gold medal in history for the U.S. women’s foil fencing team. And her pure shock sent the 21-year-old into viral fame, as well.
8. An Epic River Crossing
In a move befitting a legend, basketball star LeBron James joined his teammates at the bow of the ship transporting Team USA down the River Seine in Paris. And just like George Washington crossing the Delaware River in 1776, James held the U.S. Flag high and proud as the ship made it’s way to the Olympics.
“General LeBron James crossing the Delaware,” NBC affiliate reporter Drea Blackwell commented.
7. Meet the Muffin Man
Winning a gold medal is one thing – but a good chocolate muffin, that according to Olympian Henrik Christiansen, is almost as good. The Norwegian swimmer has spent his free time going viral with his TikTok videos showing his love of the infamous muffins and a host of other foods he’s had while at the Olympics. Watch below for one of his many video tours of favorite foods.

6. Sharpshooter ‘Dad’ Wins Fans, Silver
Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec found himself going viral for looking like an average dad who just happened to stumble onto a shooting event. While his competitors wore fancy outfits and gear, Dikec walked up to his spot with nothing but his normal pair of glasses, a t-shirt and pants. With his left hand in his pocket, he raised his right hand and with no expression, fired off the winning shots.
When asked about his unconventional attire, he had this to say: “I did not need the special equipment. I’m a natural, natural shooter.”
No fancy lenses. No headphones. Just vibes.

5. All The Love
A young girl has gone viral due to her immense love of Team USA swimmer Katie Ledecky. And it’s all thanks to a simple wave. The young girl spent the entire event cheering as Ledecky swam her way to gold in the Paris Olympics. And one quick wave from the swimmer to her fan, made this girl’s life and had the video of her reaction being watched by millions.

4. Beast Mode
With a stiff-arm, Ilona Maher shoved her way to helping Team USA take home a bronze in rugby. From fending off opponents to catching the eye of Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry, it’s no wonder Maher went viral. “Oh yeah,” Henry said about Maher’s talent. “She got it.”
Her ability to brush off bullies is also gaining her fans on TikTok, where she educates others about taking pride in your muscles and about healthy body mass indexes.

3. Effortlessly Cool
With the internet swooning over the smooth way South Korea’s Kim Yeji competed in shooting, it’s no wonder she went viral. The simple cap paired with her black and white outfit drew attention with the simple addition of a cute plush elephant attached at her side. Yeji shot her way to a silver medal, gaining a huge new group of fans along the way.
2. The Existence Of Snoop Dogg
Do we need to say anything else? Ok, maybe a tiny bit. From carrying the torch to cheering on every team and being a commentator, Snoop has gone viral as the one person who has made 2024 slightly better.

And finally…
1. A Gymnast Superman
From the moment Team USA gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik put his glasses on top of his head and rested his head back with his eyes closed, he drew the attention of the crowd. But the moment he stepped up to the pommel horse, he went viral.
Nedoroscik, like Superman, takes his glasses off to do his routine. But, unlike the comic-book hero, the gymnast can barely see due to an eye condition that causes light sensitivity and a host of other vision problems. So his entire bronze medal performance was done with little ability to see. “It’s all in the hands — I can feel everything,” Nedoroscik said.
Oh, did we mention, he’s also a whiz at Rubik’s cube-solving? I’m pretty sure even Superman can’t do that one. Watch below for his performance, both on the pommel horse and with a rubix cube.
And that’s how you become an Olympic legend.
