The bond between a grandchild and their grandparents is something so special. The memories can often become the most treasured ones a child may have.

So when 5-year-old Lisette’s grandfather had to go out of town, and she couldn’t tag along, she was very sad and didn’t want him to go.

But the ingenious little girl found a way to make sure her grandpa wasn’t lonely on his trip without her. She snuck in a few friends to keep him company.

It just so happened that those friends were miniature figurines from the kids TV series, “Peppa Pig.”

When David Zielke arrived in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to attend a wedding with family, he thought he’d known what was in his suitcase. But after opening the suitcase later that evening after arriving, he quickly found out otherwise.

“We’re unpacking, we’re getting settled in and my dad calls me into the room. He’s like, ‘Come check this out,'” his daughter, Tanya Zielke recalled to Good Morning America.

He’s like, ‘Look! Little Lisette, her ‘Peppa Pig’ toys [are] in my luggage! They came all the way to Cabo!'”

Tanya, who is Lisette’s aunt, said they were both surprised, but moved by the little girl sending her toys along with David.

“I thought it would be fun to just take them wherever we went and shoot little video clips,” David explained. He said he thought the videos would be a great gift to bring back to his granddaughter. “So I shot the video clips … and then Tanya, she filmed me filming them.”

“It was really cute to just watch my dad be the super grandpa that he is,” Tanya said. The entire family quickly became involved in Peppa’s vacation adventures.

David and Tanya recorded nearly 40 videos, both in English and French, since Lisette can speak both languages. Tanya stitched the clips and turned them into a six-minute show, which they called “Peppa Adventures to Cabo San Lucas.” She uploaded it to YouTube, and then TikTok, where it became viral faster than anyone expected. After the first TikTok, it quickly got more than 14 million views.

Even Peppa Pig herself commented, saying “The most oinktastic grandpa! 💕🐽”

For David, it was all about creating memories for his grandchildren to enjoy long into the future.

“I did record a little video snippet of why I did it for Lissette, a little message for her that plays at the very end [of the short] and I think that really will tell people, if you watch, that’s what it was in (my heart) for me when I did this,” David said.. “I think the video, the little kids will get a kick out of it and big people, [it] might strike a chord with them watching it and especially at the end.”

“You were in my heart the whole time we were gone,” he said in the video narration. “Thanks to your little toys, hopefully you enjoyed this video. This is a souvenir for you that you’ll be able to look back on, maybe long after I’m gone. It’s just a little sign of love that I have for you and your little brother.”
