Getting your hair dyed is a way to change your looks in a fast process – usually one that you expect to see coming.
But for one grandma, she was in the shock of her life after seeing what the beautician had in store for her.
It just so happened that the stylist was her granddaughter!
Florida resident Betty Mae Jinright was in for a wild ride, when her granddaughter, Kourtnee Jinright, needed someone with undyed hair to enter into a contest. The Wild Ride requires stylists to make a crazy-new look with the company’s Pulp Riot’s Wild Ride line of hair colors.

“My grandmother would do anything for her grandbabies to help them out in their career,” Kourtnee Jinright said to Good Morning America.
But Betty Mae embraced the opportunity. Even if there were a few moments of uncertainty.
“This [color] is called acid spill,” Kourtnee Jinright said to her grandma in the video.
I’m so glad to know that,” Betty Mae quips, before losing it in a peal of laughter.
Slowly, Kourtnee adds strips of blues, purple and pinks. As each color goes on, Betty Mae can’t stop laughing. “I’m going to look like an Easter egg,” she cackled.
All-in-all, the entire process took about two hours, with some time added in because the duo couldn’t stop laughing.

Since Kourtnee posted her TikTok video, it has been viewed more than 650,000 times. It seems the whole world loves Betty Mae, too.
“She is the CUTEST!!!! Really made me miss my grandmas. love that you can create such special memories with her,” one user wrote in the comments.
Kourtnee said that the laughter is normal for them.
We are always laughing until we can’t breathe,” she said.
And she wasn’t surprised that the video went viral. “My grandma is incredible,” Kourtnee said. “All of the people in my life are obsessed with her and I knew the whole world would be too. At this point, she’s everyone’s grandma.”
She went on, “I had so many people reach out saying their grandparents had passed away, and this video really made them feel good. If it can make one person’s day, I know I did my job right.”

For Kourtnee, it also was amazing to have a chance at helping make the internet a slightly better place for a bit.
“Social media can be a scary place for mental health, but I hope this video can bring brightness to the internet,” she added. “No comparing, just warmth and pure genuine love.”
But don’t worry – this won’t be the last we see of the pair.
“If you stay tuned, we are going to be doing a fun little Fourth of July theme on my grandma next,” she said.
