When you meet the love of your life, most would find themselves speechless.
You would be lost in thought, staring at the person you have wanted to see most in the world.
Your next words might be, “bark, bark, bark.” Because you’d be a french bulldog named Rory, who just got the chance to meet the love of her little life: actor Henry Cavill.
Cavill, best known as playing Geralt of Rivia on Netflix’s “The Witcher”, found herself in the news, not because of his star status on a top show, but because of the love that a little dog on TikTok had developed for him.
Rory went viral when her owner, Heather Land of Milwaukee, posted her dog’s unusual love for Cavill. Her lovable pet had already been quite the star in her videos, but it was Rory’s love for Cavill that won over the internet, and the actor himself.
Her body’s so tiny, but her personality is just so huge,” Land said.
She said she had started to notice that Rory would not move away from the TV while she was watching “The Witcher.” Wanting to show others, she posted some videos on TikTok. The dog would stare rapturously at Cavill on screen. Land said Rory gets visibly upset if she turns the TV off.

“She never watches anything on TV ever, (until Cavil came on screen),” Land said. “Not even dogs or cats or anything.”

The video launched Rory into viral fame. Her more than 400,000 followers couldn’t get enough of the little dog’s love.
They began sending the tiny pup “Witcher” merchandise. They sent so much that Land was able to build a tiny shrine dedicated to Cavill, complete with pet couch for Rory to sleep on. The dog will sit on the couch, staring at the photos of Cavill that surround the bed.

When Rory realizes he’s on the TV screen, she starts watching. Then, she’ll get closer to the screen and stare at it.
I still don’t know why she does it,” Land said. “It’s fun to think it’s love.”
Not only did her followers take notice, but Netflix did, too. Land announced on a video that she and Rory were invited to the London premiere of season 3 of “The Witcher.”

Rory went dressed as Cavill’s character, much to the delight of photographers and fans. And more importantly, to Cavill himself.
At the premiere, time was made for Cavill and Rory to finally meet. In traditional form, it took the little dog a few moments to stop staring and approach her crush. Of course, it was all caught on video.
“I didn’t expect her to get well-known for having a celebrity crush,” Land said. “That wasn’t on my list for … things that I thought would happen. But it’s really interesting. I have learned a lot, especially about dogs and about emotions and love, and about Rory.”
The dog has changed how she views her and Rory’s time together.
“Rory means the entire world to me,” Land said. “Trying to remember and cherish every single moment that we have together, because you never know how much time you get. I’m just going to live every day to the fullest — even if it’s gonna be full of Henry Cavill. Whatever Rory wants to do ’cause she’s my best friend.”
