When the time calls for a Quinceańera, sometimes you have to just spare no expenses – even if that means the total cost is a colossal $100,000.
That’s exactly what one well-known comedian did recently, and he brought all of his TikTok fans along for the ride. Gabriel Iglesias, also known as Fluffy, gave viewers a look at what went into the extravagant party he spent months planning.
The massive event included more than 300 guests, tables covered in floral arrangements, and the guest of honor making her entrance in a pink carriage fit for Iglesias’ ‘little princess.’
And that princess just happened to be a four-pound, nearly 17-year-old chihuahua named Risa.
Iglesias wrote in the TikTok caption:
“Risa has given me so many years of happiness. I just wanted to celebrate her. I even wore pants.”
The video shows Risa being escorted through the maze of guests, which included her brother, Vinnie, as well as an assortment of her doggy friends.
The party, conducted in a tent outdoors, was decorated with shimmering string lights, colorful pink, rose gold and white balloons, and of course, heaters to keep the guests and animals warm.
Iglesias told The Today Show that he decided on a quinceańera for the older pup, after seeing a video of a man doing the same for his pet. The event, which is usually reserved for a girl’s 15th birthday, seemed ideal for his beloved dog. And Risa, despite being nearly 17-years-old, Iglesias said, still deserved a party.
“I’ve had dogs since I was a kid and Risa was the only girl dog I’ve ever had,” Iglesias explained to the news outlet. “Since I’ve had her, from day one, she’s always been in my hoodie. She’s always been in my jacket. We’re very close.”
“So I said, ‘Alright, I’m gonna do this once. I’ve never had a daughter, I’ve never had a kid of my own, so I’m gonna go full blown on this one,’” he continued. “And I did.”
When inviting others to the party, Iglesias pushed his guests to bring along their furry plus ones. He believes there were at least 12 other dogs that attended.
According to the Daily Mail, the comedian used One Call Events to help plan the party and also help provide the entertainment, which included:
- A band, DJ and violinist
- Dancers, including Cirque du Soleil-inspired performers and robot men
- Christian and Scooby, a man-and-dog act from “America’s Got Talent”
- Customized airbrush hats
- A balloon maker
- A build-a-bear-inspired station
- Artists doing caricatures
Animals and guests alike, were spoiled by a menu that consisted of a dog-station with ‘puppuccinos’, as well as bacon-wrapped hotdogs, carnitas, corn-on-the-cob, desserts and more.
Iglesias also had his Director of Operations, Marybel Pineda, design three dresses for the pampered pup to wear. “She made sure that Risa had the most pimped-out dresses and different looks,” he told The Today Show.
Despite the cost of the party, Iglesias said “I went full blown and people say, ‘Oh, you wasted money,’ but it’s like, no. I’m celebrating something that means the world to me.”
Then jokingly, the comic added, “I think Risa’s favorite part was when everybody left and I took her to Jack in the Box to get chicken nuggets.”
