For one little boy, the mom he was used to seeing every day, in comfy clothes and big smiles, was the mom he expected to see at the wedding. But the little one couldn’t figure out at first, the stunning figure making her way down the aisle to him and his dad.
Then it hit him. It was his mama. Kristie Mihelich thought her wedding day would be filled with unforgettable moments, but she couldn’t have predicted her 2-year-old son, Pierson, would create one of the sweetest highlights of her life. As Kristie prepared to walk down the aisle at the Planterra Conservatory in Michigan, her toddler’s joyful reaction became the talk of the event — and later, the internet.
The moment Pierson spotted Kristie in her elegant white mermaid-style wedding gown, his excitement bubbled over. “Hey, Mom!” he shouted, waving his arms in delight and drawing laughter from the guests. Unable to wait any longer, Pierson dashed down the aisle to greet her, wrapping his little arms around her dress in a heartfelt embrace.

He then proudly walked with her, holding her brother’s hand along the way. “I couldn’t even believe it was happening,” Kristie said. “It completely diverted my feelings of getting married to just heart-melting.”
And honestly, I think it was the sweetest moment of my life.”
The tender moment surprised Kristie, especially since Pierson hadn’t shown much interest during the rehearsal dinner the night before. “I couldn’t even get him to stand up next to us to practice at all,” she said. “He wanted nothing to do with it. I was just happy he was standing there and participating. And then when that happened, I’m like, ‘You’re kidding me. This could not be better.’”
Kristie believes her son’s reaction may have been sparked by seeing her dressed so differently from her usual attire. “I really think he was like, ‘Oh, Mom, you’re dressed up. You’re not in jammies,’” she said. “It was probably just like, ‘You look so pretty.’”

She added, “He didn’t understand about the whole walking down the aisle and he hadn’t seen me in a while since the first look. So then he was probably like, ‘Oh, there’s Mom, but wait a minute, why is she down there?’” The magical moment at the ceremony was captured beautifully by Orange Blossom Photography and later went viral, much to Pierson’s surprise.
Though Pierson doesn’t yet fully grasp its significance when he’s seen the video, she is sure he will one day. “He can’t believe he was on TV,” Kristie said. “Whenever I tell him he’s a celebrity, he doesn’t quite know what that means yet.” Reflecting on the day, Kristie cherishes the memory not just for its sweetness but for how it reflects the special bond she shares with her son.
