93-Year-Old Shakes Up The Dating Scene – But Her List Of Hilarious Rules Is Pure Gold

Who says dating is just for the younger generation?

Certainly not this sprightly 93-year-old who has taken the internet by storm with her hilarious dating advice.

Meet Lilian Dorniak, fondly known as “The Internet’s Grandmother,” a TikTok sensation with more than 8 million followers. But what sets her apart from the others on the social media app? Well, it’s her age, of course!

Lilian’s content revolves around sharing her wealth of experience and wisdom in a hilariously candid manner. In one of her recent viral posts, she entered the realm of dating, capturing the hearts of the younger generation. Lilian started her dating series with a “get ready with me” video, showcasing her getting ready for a date for the first time in 25 years. The video not only revealed her styling routine but also included her advice to her followers.

And while many were there to see her first date, it was really her dating red flags that caught everyone’s attention. She shared some lighthearted yet insightful observations about men that had her viewers in stitches.

If the man loves to golf and hates bingo, then it’s time to say goodbye,” Lilian quipped.

She also revealed that not opening doors or pulling out chairs was a major turn-off for her. Her humorous take on red flags extended to men who lied about their height, had names starting with “J,” disliked cats, put soups in the fridge, and were specific astrological signs.

“If he is a water sign, run, run far away,” she said.

But it wasn’t all about the red flags; Lilian also shared some “green flags” that indicated a potential keeper. These included having a pet, flossing daily, buying her drinks, and, most importantly, knowing when to “shut up.”

Yet, despite her humorous approach to dating, Lilian emphasized that her advice was optional. Viewers were free to choose whether or not to follow it.

As she got ready for her first date, she did a ‘get ready with me video’. In it, she talked about what she thought might happen on the date.

“I’m getting nervous now. I met him at bingo and that’s the way it goes,” she said.

“He’s really handsome and I couldn’t say no… I might kiss him, you never know but I’m going to still put lipstick on just in case.”

She added: “If he doesn’t like it, he could leave. All I want is a free dinner. I’m not even going to bring my wallet or my purse. I’ll let you know how it goes.”

Unfortunately, the date didn’t go as well as hoped. Lilian explained in another video: “I just got back from my date and it was no good.

“He didn’t even look at my outfit and say that it looks pretty. He was rude to the waiter, he was just a rude person. He didn’t even hold the door for me like a gentleman should.

But, in a heartwarming twist, Lilian reminded her audience that being with a man wasn’t the only path to happiness. She shared that there were numerous ways to enjoy life as a single woman, and one’s happiness ultimately lies in their own hands. Her empowering words struck a chord with many, reinforcing the idea that personal fulfillment doesn’t solely depend on a romantic relationship.

In an interview with Good Morning America, she expressed her love for making videos, saying they made her feel young. She relished the internet’s embrace of her as a beloved grandmother, and she considered all her viewers and supporters to be her grandchildren.

Her last bit of advice:

Only date a gentleman … when you go out, that’s how you find out.”

As to her red-flag date, she had this to say, “I did not give him a kiss. No way, no way.”

What a hilarious take on dating, no matter what your age. Watch below for more on what Lillian had to say about men, as well as her TikTok fame.
